Free paper shredding event planned April 18 in Evergreen

The Northwest Montana Veterans Food Pantry and Stand Down will hold a free paper shredding event from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday, April 18, outside of the food pantry at 1349 U.S. 2 E. in Evergreen.

Other participating agencies include Humana, Veterans Coalition of Northwest Montana, Flathead County Agency on Aging, AARP and Shred EX. This fraud-theft risk awareness event is free to the community. You can get your paperwork shredded (first four boxes free) and it’s also an opportunity to obtain free services, and engage with veteran and community resources.

Free services available to the public will include, shredding, gun locks, fraud /theft prevention, legal, aging, insurance, counseling, suicide prevention, energy, services/referrals.

“This event will not be canceled,” the food pantry said in a press release. “It is an outdoor event. We will be able to keep up with social distancing if required.”
