Teenagers who love the wilderness, crave adventure or simply want to get off the couch and into the woods this summer are invited to join the Montana Conservation Corps.

The corps’ youth expedition is open to young people between the ages of 14 and 17.

As crew members, teens will spend a month living in the outdoors, working with other youths from the Flathead Valley and exploring areas such as Glacier National Park and Jewel Basin.

Members work under the supervision of two youth crew leaders building fences, digging trail, building trail structures and working on other outdoor projects.

There is a $200 service award given to members after completing the monthlong program.

One session already is under way. The second Montana Conservation Corps session starts July 17 and runs through Aug. 13. Applications are due July 11.

Applications and additional information are available at http://mtcorps.org.
