FHS students compete in national event

Eight Flathead High School students competed in a national business competition in Washington, D.C., recently.

Sophomore Gabriel Meyer finished in fourth place in PC Servicing and Troubleshooting. He also competed in Computer Network Tech. It was Meyer’s second trip to the national competition.

Mackenzie Johnson, a freshman, finished 11th in Extemporaneous Speech.

Bridger Putnam, also a ninth-grader, finished in 13th place in Fundamentals of Web Design. Sophomore Jacob Byrne, who attended nationals for the second time, finished 13th in Presentation Management-Individual.

Juniors Kayla Seaman and Miles Sorlie also competed at nationals, as did seniors Karli Kusler and McCall Smith. Seaman competed in Integrated Office Systems and as a member of Flathead’s Administrative Support team. Sorlie, Smith and Kusler also competed in Administrative Support-Team. Sorlie competed as an individual as well, in Network Administration Using Microsoft.

The team would like to thank parents and supporters who helped them get to Washington.
