'The price is right' - please don't change it

Kalispell Police got a report Tuesday regarding a would-be shoplifter who attempted to change the price on a $300 item at a store on East Idaho Street, then fled the scene when he was confronted.

There was a report of a purse being stolen from a vehicle on Appleway Drive. Later, there was a report of a purse being found at a nearby construction site.

A woman called from Second Street West and Fourth Avenue West to report that her 12-year-old son had been assaulted by three older kids.

Responding to a citizen’s report of a possible drunk driver, an officer ended up following the suspect and watching him almost hit a pedestrian on Airport Road. A man, 61, was arrested for driving under the influence.

There  was a report of a vehicle window being smashed on the 2400 block of U.S. 93 North.

A man who suspiciously ran from a bar on Woodland Avenue was arrested on probation violation.

There was a disturbance on Third Street West in which a man said he attempted to quiet down a neighbor’s party but the neighbor started yelling at him and tried to start a fight.

Wednesday morning, a 24-year-old man was arrested on Teal Drive on a felony warrant and misdemeanor warrants.

A woman reported from the 100 block of Blue Crest Drive  that a suspicious man knocked on her door twice, identifying himself as being with Homeland Security, and later followed her when she left in her vehicle.

In the wake of a family dispute report from Ninth Street West in Columbia Falls Tuesday, the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office arrested a man on a contempt warrant out of Columbia Falls.

A business on U.S. 2 East in Evergreen reported the theft of a sign and damage to property.

A person called from the Coram area to report that three men emerged from a neighboring cabin and attempted to break into his cabin, but they fled after he warned them that he had a gun.

There was a report from Montclair Drive involving a teenage girl who attempted to jump out of her mother’s car, and at one point was on the side of the road throwing up. The parties involved were counseled.

A person calling from Grand Vista Drive claimed that a neighbor cut her barbed wire fence, allowing horses to escape. Later, one of the persons involved reported that the neighbor had threatened to shoot her horses.

A woman calling from Harmony Road reported that she had been sexually assaulted over the weekend.

A person calling from Park Avenue reported suspecting a relative was storing stolen auto parts in a garage.

There was a report from River Road involving a son who was hiding from his angry father. The parties were separated for the night.

After responding to a report of a vehicle in a ditch off of U.S. 93 west of Whitefish early Wednesday, a deputy arrested a woman for driving without a license.
