Marjorie Yearout, 84

| January 3, 2011 2:00 AM

Marjorie Yearout passed away at 84 years old, residing at Immanuel Lutheran Home in Kalispell, on Dec. 26, 2010, at 11:30 p.m. due to natural causes.

She was born Jan. 22, 1926, in Ottumwa, Iowa, to Ross and Daisy Caster. She was the fourth of five siblings.

She is survived by her brothers, Fred and Norman Caster, who still reside in Ottumwa.

Her sister, Virginia, and brother, Richard, preceded her in death.

She followed her sister to California, where she met her husband, Paul Yearout. They married in Wilmington, Calif., in 1945 and spent 30 years of happiness together before Paul drowned in a boating accident.

Margie graduated high school and later took several college courses to allow her a career. But her career was to be a homemaker.

Margie loved to play the piano and in later years the organ. She could read music but played by ear most of the time. She loved to dance and dress up for parties. She dabbled in astrology, crocheted and loved to find a bargain at thrift stores. In her later years in rest homes, she spent her time reading and doing word puzzles. She maintained her sense of humor and kept up on current events and enjoyed country music.

She is survived by her only child, Margo Knight-Tracy, born Feb. 2, 1948, in Long Beach, Calif., and her husband, Larry Tracy, whom Margie really liked. She felt comfortable knowing he would be here to care for her daughter, two grandsons, Tim Knight and Josh Knight, and two great-grandchildren, Brandon Knight and Vanessa Knight. She also had a great fondness for her local grandchildren, Payton and Hunter Reisinger. Margie was blessed with a lot of caring nieces and nephews.

There will be a funeral service at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 5, at Johnson-Gloschat Funeral Home in Kalispell. Pastor Ralph Boyer will be officiating. Marjorie’s interment will be in the spring or summer when her daughter will take her home to be next to Paul at Forest Lawn Cypress in California.

Johnson-Gloschat Funeral Home and Crematory is caring for the family. The public is invited to go to www.jgfuneralhome.com to view Marjorie’s guest book, offer condolences and share memories.
