Listening session on forest plan is today at Flathead High

A public listening session sponsored by the Flathead National Forest on the proposed forest land management plan will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. today at the Flathead High School auditorium. Call 758-5252. Everyone interested is welcome to attend.

Rummage sale benefits SNOW bus

The Big Mountain Commercial Association and Big Mountain Resort sponsor Rummage in the Village from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. today in the village. Everything including sporting equipment and electronic to clothes will be for sale with 10 percent of the proceeds going to support the SNOW bus, the free shuttle from Whitefish to Big Mountain that operates during ski season.

Help raft company clean the river

Today is Montana Raft Company's 10th annual River Clean-up Day. Meet at 9:30 a.m. at the office on U.S. 2 East, 1 1/2 miles west of West Glacier. Bring work gloves, water and appropriate clothing. Everyone 12 years of age and older is welcome. After a half-day of collecting garbage and debris, volunteers are invited back to the office for a free barbecue. Call 387-555 for more details.

Annual bead event is this weekend

The Bead Stampede continues today and Sunday in the Grandstand Building at the Flathead County Fairgrounds. Local artists and vendors from across the Northwest will feature beads and bead supplies at this annual event. Shop for beautiful beads both ancient and artistic, in stone and bone, glass and clay, horn, wood and metal.

Admission is $3 and good for both days. Hours are from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Dan Fox Run planned in Polson

The seventh annual Dan Fox Run in Polson's Mission Bay Golf Community gets under way today, with the one-mile fun run starting at 10 a.m. and the 5K walk/run at 10:30 a.m.

Race-day registration costs $18 for adults, and $10 for youths 17 years of age and younger. Call Linda Noble at 883-4370.
