Area law officers cited at least 35 youths younger than 21 for possessing alcohol over the weekend.

This has been part of a push coordinated by Flathead County's Alcohol Enforcement Team. At least 150 people have been cited in July for underage drinking.

The alcohol enforcement team, with the Majestic Valley Arena staff's help, cited eight youths for possessing alcohol Saturday at the arena.

One of those people was also arrested for possessing drugs and drug paraphernalia, said an alcohol team news release.

A parent of two of the cited youths interfered with deputies and police officers, and had to be removed from the immediate area. That parent was not charged with any offense.

Also Saturday, the alcohol team and Columbia Falls police cited 13 youths for possessing alcohol while also arresting several people for fighting in the downtown area during Columbia Falls' Heritage Days celebration.

The team, sheriff's deputies and Kalispell police also cited six boys for underage possession at the Super One food store in Evergreen.

Meanwhile, Kalispell police cited three youth for having alcohol elsewhere, as well as arresting one kid for drunken driving.
