Polson girls remain perfect in Northwestern A basketball

COLUMBIA FALLS - Polson outscored Columbia Falls 14-8 in the final frame Thursday to pull away for a 47-40 Northwestern A girls basketball victory.

Polson, 8-0 in league and 15-1 overall, was led by Gracie Sartori's 15 points. Kara Huyser tallied 14.

"It was a great game," said Columbia Falls coach Kris Salonen.

"We were within two. The kids played hard. A good positive step for us."

Callie Spencer scored 17 points for Columbia Falls, 2-7 and 6-10.

Columbia Falls plays at Frenchtown on Saturday.

LIBBY - Teri Rebo scored 13 points and Sam Schultz had 11 as Libby rolled to an easy non-conference girls basketball victory Thursday over Troy, 2-15.

Libby led 30-3 at the half.

Libby, 8-9 overall, hosts Polson on Feb. 18.

MISSOULA - Flathead broke away from a tight halftime lead, 31-26, to bury Missoula Hellgate Thursday in Western AA girls basketball play.

The Bravettes, 5-3 in league and 11-4 overall, outscored Hellgate 32-15 in the final half.

Chelsea Vaudt led FHS with 20 points. Lindsay Ingram and Holli Hashley both had 12.

Flathead hosts Great Falls High on Saturday, 4:30 p.m.
