3 to interview to be Kalispell chief

A committee will interview three internal Kalispell police candidates on Aug. 23 to replace Chief Frank Garner, who plans to retire in December.

The council wants internal candidates to be considered before the city seeks prospective chiefs elsewhere.

The three candidates are detective Lt. Roger Nasset, patrol Sgt. Wade Rademacher and detective Scott Warnell.

The interviewing committee consists of City Manager Jim Patrick, City Attorney Charlie Harball, police advisory board members Bob Burch and Robin Balcom, consultant Tom Osborne and Bozeman Police Chief Mark Tymrak.

Council members won't attend the interviews, which are closed to the public.
