Flathead County Sheriff's Office was called to a number of parenting problems around the valley. Among them was a 12-year-old boy who allegedly tried to hit his father on U.S. 2. He was taken into custody. On Parkside Drive, an adult son reportedly had been drinking before he threw water on his mother. The son on Kelley Road left before a deputy arrived to check out a report that he was beating up a parent's belongings.

There was no report on how serious the injuries were when a family dog reportedly mauled an infant near Columbia Falls. An ambulance took the baby to the hospital.

Two boys on skateboards in the middle of Foy's Lake Hill Road caused concern.

A bad dog bit a jogger in the thigh on Blanchard Lake Drive.

A man was arrested for DUI in Coram. A Highway Patrol officer checking a report of a drunk driver in Evergreen found the driver is wanted on a felony warrant from Idaho.

From Smith Lake Road came a call from a woman who said she had been threatened by the man from whom she rents a room. She said she had locked herself in a bedroom when he kicked open the door. She went into the bathroom to call authorities. They decided to separate for the night.

Over the course of several nights, someone has been torturing a backhoe on Bear Trail. First, a back window was broken. Then lug nuts were loosened. Then a fire extinguisher was turned on the vehicle, which wasn't on fire.

A window was broken in a home on U.S. 93.

A trespasser on a dirt bike was reported on Middle Road, where a resident fears for newly planted crops.

The manager of a housing development suspects someone broke into an office computer and entered three false payments on an account.
