Corvallis reaches Western A divisional volleyball final

WHITEFISH – Southwest powerhouse Corvallis beat Libby 3-0 in the third round to advance to the championship match in the second day of play at the Western A Divisional volleyball tournament on Friday.

Libby will play Columbia Falls in the third-place game today and that winner will challenge Corvallis for the championship at noon.

Whitefish finished fourth.

In loser-out play, Stevensville defeated Butte Central 3-2 but fell 3-0 to Whitefish in the next round.

Polson hung on for a 3-2 victory over Dillon. Columbia Falls knocked off Polson and Whitefish 3-0, earning a spot in the third-place match.

The top four teams advance to state, which begins Thursday in Bozeman.
