BIGFORK — Rakiah Grende poured in a game-high 14 points to lead Bigfork to a 51-39 victory over a pesky Deer Lodge squad on Saturday night at Bigfork High School.

Shae Anderson added 11 points for the Valkyries, who led by two at the half but created separation by outscoring Deer Lodge 13-5 in the third quarter.

Ellie Berreth chipped in eight points for Bigfork.

Rachel Nicholson paced Deer Lodge with 10 points.

COLUMBIA FALLS — Columbia Falls opened a 42-15 halftime lead en route to a bashing of Polson in a Northwest A conference test.

Dani Douglas poured in 20 points to pace Columbia Falls, while Hannah Gedlaman added 16 and Ryley Kehr chipped in 13.

It was the second Northwest A victory in as many days for the Wildkats, who defeated Libby on Friday night.

Kaelyn Smith led Polson with 20 points, and Jaycee Frydenlund added nine.

EUREKA — Sienna Utter led three Eureka players in double figures as the Lions overcame a poor field-goal percentage to down Thompson Falls.

Utter, who recorded 17 points and fives steals, helped ice the victory for Eureka, which led by just two before outscoring the Blue Hawks 14-8 in the final period.

Karlee Frost and Cassie Hammack each added 10 points for the Lions, who won despite shooting just 16 of 53 from the field (30.1 percent).

Maggie Graves and Avory Escobar grabbed eight and seven rebounds, respectively, for Eureka.

LIBBY — Libby allowed an early advantage to slip away in a Northwest A conference loss to Browning.

The Indians, trailing 14-12 after the first quarter, limited the Loggers to a combined 13 points in the second and third quarters, building a 38-27 advantage after the third.

Libby’s Jayden Winslow scored a game-high 22 points, but it wasn’t enough to overcome three Browning players in double figures — Ronnal Jordan (14 points), Taylor Jordan (13 points) and Tamika Guardipee (12 points).

Shannon Reny added 11 points for the Loggers.

BIGFORK — Bigfork turned what was a tight game at the half into a blowout against Deer Lodge to extend its perfect start to the season to 8-0.

The Vikings, up 25-23 at halftime, outscored Deer Lodge 22-7 in the third quarter to pull away.

Anders Epperly led Bigfork with 20 points, and Beau Santistevan added 15.

COLUMBIA FALLS — Connor Lanier reached the 20-point plateau for the second time in less than 24 hours, helping Polson grab another Northwest A conference win.

Hours removed from a 28-point outburst that led Polson to a double-overtime win over Ronan on Friday night, Lanier poured in 20 points to pace the Pirates against the Wildcats.

Shade Main added 13 points for Polson.

Columbia Falls, paced by 22 points from Quintin Schriver, outscored the visitors 42-27 in the second and fourth quarters combined, but Polson more than made up for that deficit by holding the Wildcats to only six points combined in the first and third quarters.
