VOLLEYBALL: Libby, Corvallis spikers roll into semifinals at Western A

BUTTE — Libby and Corvallis rolled into semifinal play by posting impressive victories on Thursday during first-day action at the Western A divisional volleyball tournament at the Maroon Activities Center.

Libby toppled Frenchtown 25-20, 25-21, 25-13 and spilled Whitefish in the final match of the evening,

Corvallis rolled by Polson 25-13, 25-9, 25-14 and Columbia Falls 25-6, 25-15, 25-23.

Corvallis and Libby meet tonight at 6 p.m. with the winner advancing to Saturday’s title match at noon in the double-elimination event.

In loser-out play today, Polson and Hamilton face off at 10 a.m. followed by Stevensville and Frenchtown at noon.

Whitefish will play the Polson/Hamilton winner at 2 p.m. and Columbia Falls will tangle with the Stevensville/Frenchtown winner at 4 p.m.
