Aussie alleges title agency scam

Someone calling from Australia told the Whitefish Police Department that a title agency in Whitefish allegedly scammed her by not sending her the money from closing on her late husband’s property. She said the company claimed to be speaking with the FBI about the matter, but had not spoken with her in five weeks and was not returning her phone calls.

A woman said she had been punched by another woman and was bleeding from her nose. She refused medical attention.

A caller said two Cerwin-Vega speakers, worth $1,600, were missing after a garage theft. She told officers that her garage was locked, but that her ex still had a key.

Two black bears — a mother and cub — were reportedly seen walking uphill from Whitefish City Beach.
