Flathead Manufacturing Month schedule announced

A variety of tours to local manufacturing companies, plus a career path development seminar and timber industry tour will unfold during Flathead Manufacturing Month in Oct.

Some tours will not accept walk-in participants, so sign up for tours ahead of time by registering at www.kalispellchamber.com/manufacturing,or call the Kalispell Chamber at 406-758-2803. Closed-toe shoes and no loose clothing are required for some tours; inquire at the Kalispell Chamber.

Here’s a rundown of the schedule:

• Monday, Oct. 2 — 5 p.m., tour of Flathead Lake Brewing Co., 116 Holt Drive, Bigfork

• Tuesday, Oct. 3 — 3 and 4 p.m., tours of Weyerhaeuser medium-density fiberboard plant, Columbia Falls; 5 p.m. tour of Whitefish Handcrafted Spirits, 2134 U.S. 2 E., Kalispell

• Thursday, Oct. 5 — 11 a.m., tour of Kalispell Kreamery, 480 Lost Creek Drive, Kalispell; 1 and 2 p.m., tours of Bio-Energy Systems, 1930 U.S. 2 W., Kalispell; 2:30 p.m., tour of Proof Research, 10 Western Village Lane, Columbia Falls; 3 and 4 p.m., tours of Aluma Glass, 32 First Ave. W., Kalispell; 5 p.m., tour of Glacier Sun Winery, 3250 U.S.2 E., Kalispell

• Friday, Oct. 6 — 8:30 a.m., tour of Colter Coffee Roasting, 25 Heritage Way, Kalispell; 10 a.m., tour of Defiance Machine, 3881 Montana 40; 11 a.m., tour of Applied Materials, 655 Old Reserve Drive, Kalispell; 1 p.m., tour of Nomad Global Communication Solutions, 5414 U.S. 2, Columbia Falls; 2:30 p.m., tour of Glacier Pre-Cast Concrete, 175 Alder Drive, Kalispell; 3:30 p.m., tour of Northern Plastics Inc., 1943 Montana 35, Kalispell; 5 p.m., tour of Kalispell Brewing Co., 412 S.Main St., Kalispell

• Thursday, Oct. 19 — 12 to 4:30 p.m., Flathead Timber Tour, Weyerhaeuser and F.H. Stoltze Land & Lumber; buses depart Kalispell Chamber.

• Wednesday, Oct. 25 — 5 to 6 p.m., open house for Applied Materials’ 50th anniversary and LC Staffing
