Polson’s Rensvold, Wilson, Whitefish’s Kastella named all-state in basketball

Two senior members of the Polson High School boys basketball team have received Class A all-state honors.

They are: Matthew Rensvold and Tanner Wilson.

Both were also first-team selections for the Northwest Conference.

Rensvold was named the conference Most Valuable Player.

Polson coach Randy Kelley was named the Northwest Conference Coach of the Year.

Polson wrapped up play over the weekend in Butte with a third place finish at the state tournament. The Pirates posted an 18-7 mark overall.

Wilson and Rensvold were picked for the all-tournament second team along with teammate Jayden Bautista in voting by media members and tournament officials.

The other two all-state and first-team all-conference Northwest players are seniors Austin Means of Frenchtown and Derek Kastella of Whitefish.

Polson senior Jeremiah North Piegan was named to the all-conference first team.
