Mary Gunderson, 77

Mary Gunderson, 77, of Wahpeton, N.D., passed away Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2011, at St. Francis Healthcare Campus, Wahpeton.

The funeral memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. today, Dec. 3, at Vertin-Munson Funeral Home, Wahpeton. There will be a visitation with Mary's family one hour before the service. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery, Wahpeton.

“Ms. Mary of Family Dollar” enjoyed staying busy by working and never wanting to retire. She enjoyed her family time and multiple craft projects which she shared with family and friends. Her talents ranged from owning her own ceramic gift shop, as well as conducting ceramic classes for many years in Whitefish. She loved to camp with her friends and chose scenic locations to oil paint. She also enjoyed cross stitch, crocheting and quilting.

Mary grew up in Devils Lake, N.D., and after marriage lived in Tioga, N.D., for a time before moving to Whitefish. After selling her ceramic business Vern and Mary moved to Pinetop, Ariz., for many years. After her husband's death in 1998 she moved to Wahpeton in 1999 to be with family.

Mary is survived by three daughters and a son, Ann and Don Ward, and their two children, Michael and Nichole Butzloff and Amanda Ward, of Kalispell; Debbi and Rich Berg of Wahpeton, and their daughter, Stephanie and fiance Eric Gilles, of Inver Grove Heights, Minn.; and Barb and Kevin Osborn of Little Canada, Minn., and their children, Sarah Osborn and Chad Raschka, of northeast Minneapolis, Tracy and Eric Garnett of Olathe, Kan., and Lucus Osborn of Little Canada, Minn.; son, Roger, and Kris Tedrow, and their sons, Robin and Kyle, of rural Wahpeton; two great-grandchildren, Chance Butzloff and Zoey Raschka; six brothers, Edward and Norma Kuhn of Minot, N.D., Joe Heit of Detroit Lakes, Minn. (wife Rosemary, deceased), Frank and Judy Heit of Osprey, Fla., Jerry and Dottie Heit of Puyallup, Wash., Kenneth and Joyce Heit of Atlanta, Richard and Wanda Heit of Cape Coral, Fla., and David and Julaine Heit of Minneapolis.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Barbara and Clarence Heit; her husbands, Vern Gunderson and Ralph Tedrow; and her granddaughter, Meagan Nichole Berg.
